Plot

The young Marie Antoinette Habsburg-Lorraine (daughter of Empress Maria Theresa of Austria) is betrothed to the Dauphin of France Louis Augustus (nephew of King Louis XV and future king by the name of Louis XVI), but his cousin the Duke d'Orleans plot to kill him and usurp the throne. Oscar was appointed head of the Royal Guard and foil many plots that aim to kill the two principles, winning the respect and friendship of Marie Antoinette. Oscar is escorting the queen attended the meeting between Marie Antoinette and the Swedish Count Hans Axel von Fersen, where both women fall in love.
